Federal government has granted the permission to six foreign airlines to operate from Sialkot International Airport, disclosed Chairman Sialkot International Airport, Muhammad Hanif Khan. Talking to journalists on Friday he said the foreign airlines including Oman, Etihad, Air Arabia, Qatar, fly Dubai and Emirates would soon started foreign flights from Sialkot airport and these airlines would operate 27 flights weekly from Sialkot to various destinations.

Hanif Khan said the business community of Sialkot visualiSed the importance of international airport at Sialkot to cater the need of handling of export and import cargo without wasting too much time besides ensuring travelling facility to the business community of Sialkot, Gujranwala and Gujrat and overseas Pakistani. Currently, Pakistan International Airline and Shaheen Air are operating 27 flights weekly from Sialkot International Airport and catering the need of passengers successfully, he mentioned.
